Welcome…

…to the online home of DLCA, a community space on the corner of Pineapple Road and Cartland Road in Stirchley, Birmingham.

Working together, we believe we can breathe new life into this centre and make it a place that helps this neighbourhood thrive.

To pull this off, we’re going to need ideas, time, skills, and funding! Can you help?

Donate

Projects like this only work if we all contribute. We’re currently fundraising to refurbish the whole property and also employ someone to run the centre.

Volunteer

We’ve had lots of brilliant volunteers already but we still need lots more both to renovate and run the centre.

Any gift of time, big or small, is massively appreciated. (We’re as Covid-19 friendly as we can be!) Contact us to find out how you can get involved.

Join

We want DLCA to be a buzzing community space for the neighbourhood. But to make that happen we need people to join in. So why not join the Facebook Page to be kept up-to-date with what’s going on. You’ll can also sign up for occasional newsletters via email so that you don’t miss a thing!

Take the 'before' tour

Chair of Trustees, Steve Squires, takes you on a walk around the centre before we started the refurbishment.

But what will it look like when it’s finished…?

Find out about building plans, future project ideas, and ways to keep the centre running.

Help crowdfund this community building!

Here’s one way you can get involved…

We want to make this much-needed building accessible and useful for everyone in the neighbourhood. We want it to be a future-proofed space by the community for the community… A building and garden that gives people a sense of belonging, peace and fun!

Through grants we’ve managed to raise significant amounts of money but we still need to raise over £20,000 for the building project and a further £25,000 a year to support the running costs of the centre. To find out more about the renovation project plans check out our page here.

Please consider giving a one-off or monthly donation, big or small. Working together, we can make this vision a reality.

Who's who?

The building has been used since the 1960s, but a new charity was formed in 2020 by four local Trustees who are passionate about the centre.

In 2020 we had nearly 100 volunteers giving their time!
